6. Principle of work

The device uses the methods of magnetic water treatment, electro-chemical coagulation, electro-flotation and filtration. Magnetic treatment takes place at water pouring through the cover-funnel. Electro-chemical coagulation occurs with anodic dissolution of the central electrode (aluminium-based alloy) with coagulant (hydroxide of aluminium) formation. Electro-flotation process is a result of formation of hydrogen bubbles at cathodic electrodes, and atomic oxygen bubbles at the anode, with the help of which coagulant is lifted up to the treated water surface and then moved away by the special conic sludge-collector.
The treated water is then poured out through the filtering block to the accumulating reservoir, at that final filtration of the treated water occurs. Water in the accumulating reservoir is ready for use. Any reservoir (mug, can, canister, bucket etc.) may be used as water collector.
The most favorable treated water temperature for purification process is from +18 to +25.

7. Device preparation for work at the initial stage

7.1. Take away the filtering elements 19, for this purpose turn off the cover 15 of the filtering block, take away the cover with the filtering elements from the filtering block, turn off the nut 22 of filtering elements fastening.

7.2. Boil thoroughly the filtering elements in the citric acid solution (1/4 of tea-spoon for 1 liter of water) or vinegar solution (1 tea-spoon of 9% food vinegar for 1 liter of water) during 20‑30 minutes. When the solution gets cold, take the filtering element away. Squeeze it 8‑10 times under the water jet.
If the filtering elements were out of use during 1 week, this operation might be repeated.

7.3. Wipe the internal parts of the filtering block, the cover-funnel 2, reactor, conic sludge-collector 3 with the same solution.

7.4. Install the filtering elements 19 on the rod of the filtering block cover according to the Fig.1b. Screw the nut 22 of the filtering elements fastening against stop.

7.5. Install the cover of filtering block with the filtering elements fastened on it into the filtering block of the device body Fig.1b. Screw the filtering block cover up to the stop and tighten slightly.

ATTENTION: When installing the cover of the filtering block (with the filtering elements fastened on it) into the filtering block of the device body make sure that the sealing gasket 18 of the filtering block cover 15 is at its place.

7.6. Install the sinking 16 for purified water into the opening in the upper part of the filtering block cover 15 and fasten it with the nut 17.

ATTENTION: When moving the device from one place to another, rising it by the sinking for purified water is FORBIDDEN.

8. Working sequence

8.1. Install the device on the flat dry surface.

8.2. Take away the cover-funnel 2 and take away the conic sludge-collector 3 from the reactor.

8.3. Turn over the cover-funnel 2 and place it on the reactor (Fig.2a).

8.4. Pour accurately through the cover-funnel (with the help of mug, bucket) initial water into the reactor up to the level 13 of initial water pouring (Fig. 2b).

ATTENTION: in order to avoid hit of great water masses on the device body, it's FORBIDDEN at initial water pouring to place the device in the sink, bath etc. and to fill the device from the tap.

ATTENTION: initial water pouring into the reactor with the power wire plug connected to the network ~220V, 50 Hz is FORBIDDEN.

8.5. Take away the cover-funnel 2.

8.6. Insert the rod of conic sludge-collector 3 into the opening at the internal side of the cover-funnel 2 up to the stop and install the conic sludge-collector 3 with the cover-funnel 2 on the reactor (Fig.2c).

8.7. Connect the power cord plug of the device to the network ~220 V, 50 Hz (Fig.2c).

8.8. On the button 14 with the working modes indicator the blinking light indicator would inflame, that indicates the power supply and the treatment process beginning.
There are two modes of water treatment:

 Coagulation mode, the indicator blinks. In the reactor occurs an intensive bubbles discharge and formation of foam (sludge) on water surface (Fig. 2c). Duration of coagulation mode is about 5 minutes.
 Flotation mode, the indicator blinking accelerates. In the reactor the bubbles formed in coagulation mode rise up to the water surface, carrying away the sludge particles distributed on water volume. Duration of the flotation mode is about 8 minutes.

8.9. The signals of water treatment ending are: three short sound signals, and on the button 14 with the working modes indicator the indicator inflames with the constant light.

8.10. After water treatment ending it's necessary to move away the sludge from the water surface, for this purpose press accurately on the rod of the conic sludge-collector 3 and plunge the conic sludge-collector 3 down up to the stop at the electrodes block (Fig.2d), at that the conic sludge-collector 3 will be filled with sludge accumulated on the water surface.

8.11. Take off the conic sludge-collector 3 filled with sludge with the cover-funnel 2 from the reactor (don't spill the sludge) (Fig. 2d).

8.12. Pour the sludge out from the conic sludge-collector and rinse it from both sides.

8.13. Final water purification of sludge is executed with the help of the filtering elements 19. For this purpose is necessary to put any reservoir (mug, can, canister, bucket etc.) under sinking 16 for purified water.

8.14. Press and hold the button 14 with the working modes indicator (about 2 seconds) up to short sound signal, then release the button, and about 5 seconds later the treated water filtration begins.

8.15. The final filtration process finishes automatically when treated water ends in the reactor. The short signal would sound and the indicator on the button 14 with the working modes indicator would go out.
Also there is possibility to stop the final filtration process without waiting treated water ending in the reactor, for this it's necessary to press shortly the button 14 with the working modes indicator, at that the indicator continues to flame with constant light.
Repeated start of final filtration – according to the p.8.14.

ATTENTION: if in the final filtration process water bleeds from the filtering block cover, it's necessary to tighten the cover or replace the sealing gasket 18.

8.16. Filtered water is ready to use.

ATTENTION: Coagulant that may occasionally appear in treated water (depending on the region when the device is used) is absolutely harmless for human's health.

ATTENTION: Don't forget, after ending of the final filtration process to disconnect the power supply wire plug of the device from the network ~220V, 50 Hz.

ATTENTION: If the device was disconnected from the network ~220V, 50 Hz and treated water stay in the reactor, the button 14 with the working modes indicator should be blocked. The repeated start of the final filtration process is only possible after repeating of actions according to the pp.8.3–8.14.

8.17. Rinse the reactor. The device is ready for repeated work.

9. Preventive works during exploiting

9.1. After 5‑6 cycles of treatment the filtering elements are to be washed out either in the running water or in the vinegar solution (1 tea-spoon of 9% food vinegar for 1 liter of water) or in the citric acid solution (1/4 of tea-spoon for 1 liter of water) with consequent rinsing with water and

8‑10 times squeezing.

9.2. One time per week the filtering elements are to be regenerated according to the instruction of the point 7.2 with boiling time 3–5 minutes.

ATTENTION: In the case of conservation (not-using) of the device during more than 1 week the operation according to the point 9.2 is to be executed obligatory.

9.3. Periodical cleaning of the central electrode (anode) plate 4.2 (Fig. 1a) is connected with oxidation of the electrode. If during the initial water treatment in the «Coagulation» mode short signals sound each 15 seconds, it's necessary after ending of the treatment cycle and pouring of treated water to execute cleaning of the central electrode (anode) 4.2 (Fig. 1a).
For the central electrode cleaning:

9.3.1. Pour water from the reactor.

9.3.2. Turn the device body on the side, take off the bottom 11, screwing off the wing-nut 12 of bottom fastening.

9.3.3. Turn off the wing-nut 9 of the anode from the contact of the central aluminium electrode (anode) 4.2, take off the anode washers 7 and the contact clamp of the anode 8.

9.3.4. Take away carefully the central electrode (anode) from the block 4 of electrodes (keeping the rubber anode sealing gasket 6 at the contact leg).

9.3.5. Smooth out the central electrode (anode) plate with emery-paper (knife, cord-brush etc.) until metal shine appearing.

9.3.6. Install the central aluminium electrode (anode) 4.2 along the guides at its place in the block 4 of electrodes, Fig.1a.

ATTENTION: Before installing the central aluminium electrode (anode) 4.2 at its place make sure that the sealing gasket of anode 6 is on the anode contact leg. If the sealing gasket is damaged or absent, install the reserve one.

9.3.7. Install the anode gaskets 7 and the anode contact clamp 8 according to the Fig.1a. Turn the anode wing-nut 9 up to the stop and tighten slightly.

9.3.8. Install the bottom 11. Turn the wing-nut 12 of bottom fastening up to the stop.

9.3.9. Turn the device body in vertical position.

9.3.10. Check the water-tightness of the reactor, pouring the water into it. Leakage isn't admissible.

10. Possible malfunctions and ways of their removal.
1. If you suppose that treated water must be cleaned repeatedly, it would be sufficient, after initial water treatment process ending, to disconnect the device from the network ~220v, 50 Hz, wait 40–45 seconds and execute repeatedly the actions according to the pp.8.7–8.9.
It's undesirable to execute purification more than two times, because useful salts would be deleted from water.

2. If the device is in use for the first time, it's advisable not to use the first lot of treated water from the reactor.

3. If you consider that initial water contains a bacterial component, after the ending of the cleaning cycle:

– take off the filtering elements (p.7.1);

– execute recommendations of the p.7.2;

– install the filtering elements at their place (p.6.4).

4. The treated water is exceptionally active, saturated with oxygen. Its keeping in a glass reservoir promotes additional water saturation with the ions of silicon, necessary for the human organism.

5. The treated water is saturated with oxygen, that's why during its boiling white foam may be formed at the water surface. Don't be confused, it's an oxygen constituent.

6. The device doesn't practically treat cool water (with temperature lower than +10). The most favorable treated water temperature for treatment process is from +18 to +25.Water with temperature up to +45 may be treated.

7. Into water poor of salts, add before treatment no more than 1/4 tea-spoon of kitchen salt or 4–5 grain of marine (oceanic) salt, if you haven't allergy for iodine.

8. The device doesn't treat snow and distilled water.

9. The sludge formed during the water cleaning is an excellent fertilizer for any kinds of plants.

The device "PVVK-1" is a complex household appliance. Purification of water is carried out by an electrochemical method at the molecular level. Of the water are derived almost all harmful to the human organism chemical substances.
